Bloom Pediatrics Hosts Community Type 1 Diabetes Screening Event
Bloom Pediatrics is hosting a Type 1 diabetes (T1D) screening event on Sunday, Nov. 15, at our Birmingham office. The event is open to Bloom patients and community members of all ages. No insurance is required.
Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that can develop at any age. It often develops in stages before symptoms appear, making early screening an important opportunity to identify risk and help prevent serious complications.
Screening is quick and simple, using a finger-poke blood test at no cost to participants. Early identification can help families connect with their healthcare team for follow-up testing and guidance.
Bloom Pediatrics also offers routine T1D screening at 2-, 6- and 10-year well visits. Families interested in screening outside of those ages can ask their provider about testing.
Join us Nov. 15 to learn more about T1D screening and take advantage of this opportunity. Everyone screened will receive an apple while supplies last!
