We understand there is more to your child’s healthcare than well and sick visits. Bloom Pediatrics cares for the whole child.
Well child visits play a vital role in a child’s overall health. During these visits, we assess growth and development, vision, speech, hearing, and emotional and mental well-being. These visits also give us the opportunity to discuss nutrition, sleep habits, and age-appropriate topics such as potty-training, dental care, and safety.
Regular wellness visits allow us to identify and address concerns early, and in many cases, prevent issues altogether. Many visits include recommended immunizations that protect infants from harmful and potentially life-threatening diseases.
We encourage families to keep a list of non-urgent questions and bring the list to the visit to discuss with a provider. Well child visits can be scheduled up to three months in advance through My Kid’s Chart patient portal or up to one year by calling our office. While we provide medical advice through our patient portal, it is not a replacement for an in-person visit with a provider.
We understand that children can become sick quickly and unexpectedly, which is why we reserve a portion of our daily schedule for same-day sick appointments. Please call us to make a same-day appointment. Sick visits can be scheduled for same-day or up to three days in advance through My Kid’s Chart patient portal.
Many school sports and summer camps require an annual physical exam to participate. Please schedule these appointments after April 15 to ensure your athlete is ready for the upcoming school year. If a school, sports, or camp form needs to be completed, you may upload and send your form request through My Kid’s Chart patient portal. If your child is due for a yearly physical, please call us to schedule, and the form will be completed at that visit.
Your child’s health and emotional wellness are very important to us. We are pleased to offer an in-house behavioral health team to help families navigate emotional, social, and developmental concerns with confidence. We provide evaluations, guidance, and evidence-based strategies for challenges such as anxiety, ADHD, mood changes, and school or family-related issues. We work closely with parents and children to create a supportive plan that promotes long-term well-being. Behavioral health services are only available to patients who have a primary care pediatrician at Bloom Pediatrics.
Our Bloom providers can offer nutrition counseling services to help families build healthy eating habits that support growth, development, and overall wellness. We provide personalized guidance for picky eating, food sensitivities, weight concerns, and balanced nutrition at every stage. Our goal is to make mealtimes less stressful and give parents practical, realistic strategies that work in everyday life. For even more guidance, Bloom U offers Starting Solids (0-9 months) and Picky Eaters workshops.
Whether you need help with latch, milk supply, pumping, feeding schedules, or overcoming common challenges, our in-house lactation consultants provide personalized guidance in a supportive, judgment-free environment. We’re here to help you feel confident and supported throughout your feeding journey. For prenatal support, Bloom U offers a Breastfeeding 101 workshop.
Our providers are always thinking about the unique physical, emotional, and developmental needs of teens and young adults. We provide preventive care, mental health support, puberty and reproductive health education, and guidance on nutrition, sleep, and lifestyle habits. We create a safe space where teens feel heard while helping families navigate this important stage with confidence. For additional guidance, see Bloom U’s puberty workshops.
Bloom Pediatrics provides thoughtful, individualized care for children with sensory sensitivities and developmental differences. Our team is proud to be a Most Valuable Provider (MVP) through Wayne State University’s Developmental Disabilities Institute, reflecting our commitment to accessible, inclusive healthcare for every child.
Our new patient forms and office policies also ask about disabilities and sensory needs, allowing our team to tailor care from the start. Team members are trained to dim lights or offer mobile sensory carts at each of our office locations. Families are also welcome to wait in their car until an exam room is ready if the lobby feels too loud or overstimulating. We document each child’s preferences, triggers, and successful strategies so future visits become more familiar, supportive, and less stressful for both children and families.
We offer a dedicated sensory room for patients at our Southfield office, providing a safe, calm space to help regulate senses, reduce anxiety, and promote emotional well-being during a child’s visit with a provider.
To help children feel prepared, we offer a Sensory Story video walkthrough, so families know what to expect during a visit at Bloom.
At Bloom Pediatrics, we know caring for your child’s health goes beyond the exam room. Our care management team provides support between visits, helping you stay organized, coordinating with specialists, and offering guidance when questions arise.
Our Certified Care Managers, including Nurse Practitioners and Pediatric Registered Nurses, are trained to assist Bloom Pediatrics patients and partner closely with families and providers to help manage continuity of care.
Care management is a service helping families coordinate their child’s care, especially for children with complex needs. This approach connects medical care with additional support, such as social and behavioral services or coordination with a pediatric specialist in an effort to support your child’s overall health.
Bloom Pediatrics offers a wide range of support through our care management program. Some examples, include:
The care management process is unique for every patient. We encourage you to talk with your child’s provider during your next visit or call our office for more information. We’re here to support you every step of the way, so your child can grow, thrive, and bloom.
