Meghna Shukla PhD, RN, CPNP-AC

Dr. Meghna Shukla is an assistant professor at the Wayne State University College of Nursing, teaching in both the baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs. She received her PhD in Nursing, and MSN – Nurse Practitioner track from the WSU College of Nursing. She is a board-certified nurse practitioner, and her clinical areas of expertise are in acute care and emergency medicine, having worked extensively with chronically ill patients in metro Detroit for over a decade.

Her primary interest lies in improving health outcomes and health behaviors in these diverse communities. Her program of research centers on examining medical mistrust in adolescents and emerging adults, with a special focus on those diagnosed with chronic illness.

In the clinical space, she is dedicated to providing compassionate, inclusive, and evidence-based care to patients and families to help develop trusting relationships for optimal health outcomes.

She has a dog, loves animals and reading a good book, and is passionate about animal rescue in her free time!
